Welcome to the Classic Rock Blog, where I write about the songs people have been writing about for the last 40 years. I will never proport to be an expert on Classic Rock, dropping the latest Steve Perry gossip like an excitable Harvey Levin. Hell no! All I got for Classic Rock is pure appreciation communicated with raw emotion and a basic vocabulary.
This blog was created out of necessity. As I age the music gets worse, and with the radio stations becoming less explorational every year, classic rock is all I have. Luckily as I age, the songs I grew with are becoming classic rock, bolstering my revolution of regression. MTV no longer plays music videos. It seems like the programming is directed solely at fat, teenage girls from Ohio, and any soon turnaround looks bleak. You have to work to listen to the new music now, and after many exhaustive searches I’ve been left disappointed – driving home tuned to my classic rock station, Q95.
The beauty of this inaugural post is the day it was posted, August 25, 2009: Two for Tuesday, where Q95 plays two songs from a single classic rock band. And since there are no bad classic rock bands, you’re double rocking all damn day. ENJOY YOURSELVES!
